Mobile Laser Detection System MLDS
Brand: Bascom-Turner InstrumentsIts development was predicated on specificity to methane, fast accurate detection, simple operation and easy installation and removal on commercial vehicles used by utilities.
Specificity is achieved by using a tunable diode laser at the mid-IR absorption peak of methane, a peak a hundred times more intense than methane absorption in the near-IR.
The single pass optical system is sensitive to 0.1 ppm methane. The overall system can be operated reliably at vehicle speeds of 25 mph.
The system is self contained requiring no electrical connections to the vehicle. It communicates via Bluetooth to a laptop or tablet in the driver’s cabin.
The MLDS can be mounted on any survey vehicle equipped with a standard Blue Ox® tow mount. It takes less than a minute to slide it onto the Blue Ox pins and secure it with screw lock pins.
The easy and quick mounting scheme, requiring no special tools, permits safe storage whenever the MLDS is not in use and easy transfer from vehicle to vehicle as needed.
